K2 x Peter Sutherland Excavator Snowboard | 2025

Named for its intended use, the K2 Excavator specializes in digging deep trenches on groomers and displacing powder after a storm cycle.

Built around a wider perimeter, with a dual radius sidecut, the Excavator is unisex in approach. The Excavator’s wider profile allows riders to size down around 5cm from their usual length without sacrificing performance, and it’s extra width and 20mm taper benefits riders with larger feet, reducing toe drag on deep carves and long traverses.

A combination of a smooth-flexing S1 core and tail to tail ICG™ 10 Biax Glass keeps the Excavator responsive and damp underfoot. We’ve also added our pre-cambered Carbon Power Forks™ to allow for an energy boost in and out of turns and those spontaneous “Slow Sign” ollies. The Excavator is packed with tech to keep you playful and floaty when powder is on the forecast.

When it came to the graphic package, we turned to Photographer, Painter, Illustrator, Collage Artist, Father, Mountain Biker, Friend, Snowboarder, and long-time K2 collaborator Peter Sutherland.  We gave the proverbial keys to the proverbial car to Peter and leaned in on his mixed-media work. Peter constructed an Excavator that truly expresses his personal style - cut and paste paper, photography, paint, and marker - scanned and printed on our matte topsheet so you can add some stickers to the piece and put your own spin on it.

Features

• S1 Core - Created to be more damp underfoot and incredibly strong, the S1 core is constructed from Bamboo, Aspen, and Paulownia. Tip to tail Bamboo add snap, durability, and damping underfoot is balanced by lightweight Paulownia in the middle, tip and tail of the board. Aspen and Bamboo are placed at 30 degree angles to increase strength and add response underfoot.
  
• Directional Camber - Camber between the feet and a slight rocker in the tip gives you all of the power and energy of a cambered snowboard, but with a little extra float on those deep days.
  
• Sintered 4001 Base - Built from the hardest and fastest Sintered base material on the market, the 4001 base holds wax longer than other sintered bases for a faster, smoother ride.
• SnoPhobic Topsheet – Helps eliminate snow buildup when it gets deep.
• ICG 10 Biaxial Glass - Integrating tip-to-tail carbon fiber stringers into fiberglass layups ensures a smooth power release in and out of turns while increasing pop, liveliness, and longevity of the snowboard without adding unnecessary rigidity.
• Carbon Torque Forks – Adding carbon that extends from the inserts to the contact point allows for an extra responsive and stable ride.
• Flex Rating – 7/10 (1=Playful,10=Precise)
